CARFAC Ontario is the association of professional visual and media artists. Founded in 1968, CARFAC (Canadian Artists’ Representation/le Front des artistes canadiens) has worked for 40 years on the legal and economic issues facing visual artists. CARFAC believe that artists, like professionals in other fields, should be paid for their work and share equitably in profits from their art practice. The work of CARFAC Ontario is to develop policies, publications and services that assist artists, galleries, curators, art patrons, and other stakeholders in creating an economic climate that benefits all visual artists.
Formerly the Ontario Crafts Council, Craft Ontario is a not-for-profit service organization that works to have craft recognized as a valuable part of life. Craft Ontario promote and celebrate professional craft through providing member opportunities, and advocate for craft practice by educating and empowering diverse audiences.
Creative Blueprint operates on the belief that emerging artists and entrepreneurs must be valued, encouraged and recognized in the markets and the communities they contribute so vibrantly to. Artists require accessible, affordable housing, healthcare, production facilities, and creative places to exhibit, promote and to sell their work. Creative Blueprint establishes empowering venues, collaborative facilities and supportive resources to encourage independent and sustainable growth in the arts community. Creative Blueprint is committed to expanding collaboration between arts organizations, community groups, funding agencies, business incubators and development programs. This diverse system of facilities, local supports and services will guide and develop an impressive new movement of innovative and creative entrepreneurs.
Established in 2011 and run by artists Erin Candela and Pam Lobb, Graven Feather is an art hub located in the heart of Queen West next to the beautiful Trinity Bellwoods Park. Geared towards both artists and the art-loving public, this bright and cheery environment is at its root a functioning studio for its artists, as well as a workshop, retail, and gallery space. Graven Feather is committed to building connections with artists and the community. A home to artist members, renters/visiting artists and a venue for exhibitions and community oriented events. Graven Feather studio is an open and accessible destination dedicated to fostering creative output and artistic exchange. Walk-in traffic and visits from the public are welcome and encouraged.
Canada’s leading printmaking centre, is a charitable, non-profit, artist run centre dedicated to the production, preservation and promotion of contemporary original fine art prints. Open Studio is a comprehensive artist-run centre for contemporary printmaking practice, providing multi-faceted services, programs and information to artists and the public alike. As a national organization, Open Studio offers affordable and equal access to printmaking facilities, programs and services for artists from across Canada and abroad. As an artist-run centre, it is our priority to support artists in the development of their professional endeavours. Our programs are accessible to the arts community and the general public.
