Ed Pien, It Always Happens, detail process shot, 2016, pigmented flax paper with thread sewing, 14 x 20″
Paperhouse Studio is a unique space devoted to the production and celebration of a material that is so familiar, it is often invisible – paper!
Ten established and emerging artists, who thoughtfully use materials, were invited to experiment and collaborate with resident expert papermakers Emily Cook and Flora Shum. They worked one-on-one with the artists, asking the question: “What does it mean to think with paper?” Each artist donated half of the new work that they have created in support of the studio and its programming.
Paperhouse (unit 102) was pleased to host a casual conversation with select In House artists starting from 6pm.
Delicious cocktails, oysters and hors d’oeuvres were provided by our event partners.
